I have a Laserjet that was running fine on my win7 pro.  Built a new win10 64b system and moved printer to there.

 

Since then, have been unable to scan from the document feeder.  Scan just comes out dark with vertical lines.

 

Scans from flatbed are fine.  Doesnt matter if I use windows fax and scan, or HP software.

 

HP Doctor says nothing, uninstalled all HP software, and reinstalled.  Still no change.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

 

Are you able to make a copy from the ADF? What happens when you try to make a blank copy from ADF

Have you tried to clean the glass strip where the document feeder paper goes?

 

Let's try these steps here: 

 

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector. 

 

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

any docs from adf just come out as long streaks top to bottom.  I'll try the reset you mention.  As for the glass strip, near as I can tell, its clean, as the whole glass strip would have to be dirty.

 

I should mention its not an image quality issue with streaks, I mean literally the entire page is nothing but black streaks.  No image at all.
