Yes, the printer can scan and send the content to your computer or other destinations.

Load the Image / document to be scanned onto the flatbed (glass) or into the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).

Reminder

The printer can automatically scan single-sided documents - scanning 2-sided documents requires extra attention / steps.

1)  Use an application or software program on your computer to scan the content and then save / print / share / fax

OR

2)  Embedded Web Server (EWS) - access via your Web Browser > set up and then use Webscan

2-sided (manual) scanning is supported in Windows

Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software -

Use HP Scan -

Select Page Sides = "2-sided (Manual)"

HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only 

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

Standard EWS format

First Time Use Only: Enable Webscan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Security > Administrator Settings > Enable >> Check box next to Webscan

Click Apply to save any changes

Use Webscan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Webscan 

Set up Webscan the way you want it - for example, set the Source to ADF

Click Start Scan to scan your document / image using Webscan

After the scan is complete, Save the scan to your computer.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Yes, but:

1. read the User Guide on page 56 Chapter 6 Copy, scan, and mobile fax
2. and read Install HP Smart app to complete setup and support 

you have to install the complete software on the computer.
