Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

I have been using Scan to Google Drive successfully for months. All of a sudden, the icon to Scan and Upload is no longer available in the printer window after I log into the APP section. The Google Drive icon remains in the earlier Apps window, however. I have tried updating the Apps on the printer, but that's no help.

Try the suggested steps below -

  1. From your printer control panel, make sure that Web Services has been enabled.

    If you have not yet enabled Web Services on your printer, go to Getting Started with ePrint.

       NOTE:

    Web Services must be enabled on your printer to use the Google Drive app. If Web Services is disabled, the Google Drive app does not work.

  2. Go to HP Connected, then either sign up for a new account or sign in to your existing account.

  3. Click the Services tab, then click Printables.

  4. Next to My Printables on, click the down arrow  to select your printer from the drop-down list.

    If your printer is not listed, click the Add a Device tab, then follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer to your HP Connected account.

  5. Scroll to Search Printables, type Google Drive in the search box, then press Enter.

  6. From the list of search results, click the Drive app icon , then click Add to My Printables.

I'm having the same issue. I went to the HP Smart Connect page, went to my printers and there is no services tab.

Turn webservices off and then on.

 

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address
--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP
---> click on webservices and remove webservices and re-enable it
 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Have you figured out a fix, I noticed mine just did the same. Google drive is no longer available. I've done the step with web services, and what's listed below, but still nothing.

Nope. I'm 99% sure that HP killed this service. A few google searches show far too many people "suddenly" having this problem.

Also if you notice on your printer, all the apps are gone, not just the google drive one, also the ability to download new apps is gone. Typical company - sells you a product that works then 5yrs down the road breaks it an update they push out to force you to buy a new one.

Yeah that sucks. I was working really well early April and really convenient. If they killed it and that's is there game I will switch brand is another company has this feature. That's for the response

Jay_G24 , yes that be amazing, if there was an actual number to call instead of the virtual agent. It does not connect me to an actual agent.
