I have a macbook air and I've had my hp envy 5530 for a couple of years and everything worked great. Then I was unable to scan directly to my macbook, so I followed troubleshooting directions - uninstalled the hp software & then re-installed it. After the 3rd re-install, scan to computer worked for a day and now I can't do it again!!
I'm unable to check the "enable scan to computer" box in the hp utility - WHY?????? Can someone please help me without copying and pasting the troubleshooting directions, I've read them already. Do I have to uninstall & re-install again???

Hi,
The HP Scan application is incompatible with Sierra, therefore you may experience issues.
Delete HP Scan by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.
Instead install HP Easy Scan below, it will be installed within the Applications folder:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-easy-scan-1_...
If you experience any further issues, ensure the latest software is installed by following HP Easy Start below:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip
Finally, ensure your drivers are up to date by clicking the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update.
Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.
