Hi @Ward00,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums with your scanning inquiry.
I understand that you are using an HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer with a Windows 7 PC and you are unable to locate the scanning software on the computer. I would like to help with that.
The scanning software that comes with the printer software and drivers is called 'HP Scan'.
If you have installed the printer's software on the computer there should be a HP Officejet Pro 8620 icon on the computer's desktop screen. If you double-click that Icon the HP Printer Assistant should open, and there should be a scan section to start a scan by clicking 'Scan a document or photo' which would open the HP Scan software.
Another way would be to click the Windows Start button, then click 'All Programs'. Locate the HP folder and the folder for the 'HP Officejet Pro 8625 series' software. 'HP Scan' should be able to be opened from there as well.
If you are not seeing any of that, you may need to install the printer's software and drivers. If this is the case try using the HP Printer Install Wizard for the install. This tool will find the most recent version of the printer's software and help with the install.
Here is a support document that can help with scanning - Scanning from the Computer with HP Scan (Windows).

I have a similar problem with an HP Laser Jet 100 MFPnw but there is no HP directory under Start -> All Programs.
Furthermore, I couldn't find any files in the HP directory on my C: drive I've installed the latest version of the software including the "full solution". I've also used the HP Print and Scan Doctor; it lists the printer and the scanner but then it says it can't communicate with the scanner. My connection to the printer is wired through a router (and my PC is wired to the router), and I've reboot the compter, router, and printer. The printer seems to print normally.
So basically, how can I find the scanner software and get it to work?
Thanks for any suggestions. -Walt

Hi @kozowh,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums with your inquiry.
I understand that you have an HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw and you are using it with a Windows PC, but you are unable to find the scan software or get the scan to work.
You mentioned that you have ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it says it is unable to communicate with the scanner, which is kind of strange seeing how the printer is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable.
Usually when there is communication issues, it is because of firewalls or anti-virus software.
Here is a support document that may help - Network Scanner Connection is Lost (Windows).
