I can't save incoming fax in the folder I've chosen during digital fax setup. I can receive fax but not save it in my pc. Reply mood is ON (setted as automatic) and the distinctive ring setted as everyone.

What's the problem?

There are a lot of factors that go into the setup.

For example,

  • We don't have any idea which printer you have nor do we know the Operating System and Version you are using.
  • We do not know how you have set up the network folder profile.

In general, the setup and requirements are similar

For example,

  • The issue might be one of permission on the folder and / or the permissions on the account in which the folder is located.
  • Not every Operating System uses the Hosts file to translate device IP addresses to host names - it is best to use the IP address when mapping / mounting devices and paths to locations.

For example,

  • The folder should be shared, providing the read / write access for that location.
  • The account in which the destination folder is located must allow access (via username and password, for example).
  • If the destination is on your network, use the IP address of the device as opposed to the name of the computer.

Once the profile has been set up, it can be edited and / or tested.

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Fax > HP Digital Fax

Officejet Pro 9025 > EWS > Fax > HP Digital Fax

Yes, you're right. Sorry. My mind was focused only on the problem

I have a HP LASERJET PRO M148 and my operating system is Windows 10.

I had set up fax using the automatic configuration to save fax in digital format. With this program I can choose the destination folder (that is on my pc and I have all the permissions as admin), when save digital fax (always) and how (as pdf).

I saved and verified all. All correct for the program. I can save digital fax in my folder. It might be okay.

I can send fax and I can receive but I can't find it in my fax folder. Where is my incoming fax? I had a search in all the pc but I can't find the pdf file.

If I open IP address on browser I can see it's all ok. Fax will be saved on my pc.

Not sure - This should be pretty straight forward, yes?

Use the Fax Test - send a test fax to the HP fax test number - the service does send back an actual fax.

HP Printers and Fax Machines - Test Fax Setup with the HP Fax Test Service

Interestingly, I just rechecked and reconfigured my own digital setup;  I  tried retest it and have discovered that our first big storm of the season has apparently taken out my landline service.

At the moment, I cannot even retest the Digital setup to fax to email - ordinarily this is a good alternative to storing the fax on a disk / storage system.  You might tray that and see what it does.

Hi!

I had fax test. All okay for the test. The Hp number to test fax doesen't work. I tried a lot of time.

Rats? No, I don't think.  I can send fax without problem. The line is okay.

I have edited my previous post to remove all signs of rodents.  My sense of humor does not translate to other languages.

Edits

I cannot find any actual information or evidence that the printer supports digital filing, though there is a hint in the Datasheet that the fax supports "archiving".    NOTE:  That I cannot find the information means nothing.

I checked the Italian version of the help document

Stampanti HP - Utilizzo di Fax digitale HP per la ricezione di fax su computer o e-mail

Interestly, the document still expects you to use the Test Fax phone number in the USA.  I think the Italian document may be a translated copy of the original English document and / or there is no in-country fax test phone number. I am tempted to say, "Rats" but instead will settle for "Disappointing".

Because you can receive a fax, albeit the fax prints instead of "saving", the "problem" may be the manner in which the Network path is set up or perhaps the permissions.

Ideas

  • If you are using the host name of the PC where you will save the incoming fax, change that to the IP address.
  • Open the network destination location one level up from the actual folder in which you will save the fax - Make sure the folder is Shared and provides read/write access to everyone.
  • Ensure that your security software is not "helping" - check to make sure your security software is allowing access to the folder.

Assuming the information is available, your EWS is going to look much different from the example.

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
