Can't scan multiple pages into single document

Some one asked the following question  earlier but the answers were not helpful. I am pasting AdamDaw's question again as it fit exactly my problem but that was in 2017, I am asking in 2021 so I would like to know why there has been no clear solution and how can I scan a multiple page document and have it saved as a continuous single document? I tried to look for an "Add" icon etc but there isn't any  -- same as what he has described. Must we download an additional piece of software as someone then suggested?

I made sure to update my iOS today and the HP Smart was also installed today. HELP!! please. very frustrated. Thank you in advance.

"Since I recently updated my printer driver, the scanning software seems to have changed. I now have something called HP Smart, and I cannot work out how to scan multiple pages to a single PDF. Under the old system, you just clicked the small x under the saved image of the first page, to add a second page, and so on. Now there is a big ADD button to the right of the image - but this only seems to create a folder to save all the pages into, not a single document. So when emailing the scanned document, you have to attach all the individual pages and send them separately, rather than sending a single document. Could you please let me know if it's still possible to create a single file containing multiple pages?"

Can you download and install the HP FULL Solution Software for your operating system:

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
