HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e All-in-One Printer

When fibre broadband was installed my printer stopped sending scans to the computer. The HP fix said to uninstall and re install which I have done. My computer recognises the printer and checks say that it will receive scans. When I scan from the printer the scan disappear into the ether and don't appear anywhere in the computer and I can't find anywhere to set up a pathway from the printer to a folder in the computer.

Hi @Hugha2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulty setting up a destination on your computer for scans with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e All-In-One Printer. Let's try to troubleshoot the issue together.

Here are a few steps you can follow to set up a destination for scans:

  • Ensure that the HP printer software is installed on your computer. If you haven't installed it yet, you can download the latest software and drivers from the official HP website.
  • Once the software is installed, open the HP printer software on your computer. You should be able to find it in your list of installed programs or by searching for the printer's name.
  • Look for an option or tab labeled "Scan" or "Scan Settings" within the HP printer software. Click on it to access the scan settings.
  • Within the scan settings, you should see an option to set up a scan destination or choose a location where the scanned documents will be saved. This may be labeled as "Destination" or "Save To" or something similar.
  • Click on the option to set up a new destination or select an existing one. If you're setting up a new destination, you may need to specify the folder location on your computer where you want the scans to be saved.
  • Once you've selected or created a destination, save the settings.
  • Now, when you scan a document using your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e, it should automatically save the scanned files to the designated destination on your computer.

If you've followed these steps and are still unable to set up a destination for scans, there may be a software or compatibility issue. In that case, it could be helpful to update the printer drivers and software to the latest version.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
