I bought this printer for my brother who does not have internet or a computer.

He only wants to use as a copier.  How can he use it?  Second step of Instructions says to do something with software.

Appreciate your help.  (He and I are not located in same  place.)

Hmm.. The printer might be useful to your brother.

Printers are not meant to be stand alone devices.

You do realize that you are now his de-facto printer administrator, yes?

At least one of you is going to have to understand this printer very well.

If he at least has a compatible phone, he could be "all set", at least to the extent that he can connect the printer to his phone and learn to do a number of tasks on it.  The Printer does support Wi-Fi Direct (wireless direct) - wireless without a router.

What else?

If he will truly have not way to communicate with the printer aside from the tiny printer display, you might want to help him out a bit...

Print out the User Guide and send that to him.

Thank you for your thorough reply!  Unfortunately he does not have a smart phone either!

But I bought him an Amazon device (assuming a Fire but not sure) which he never used.  (He’s not good with technology.) I’ll see if we can find it and try that route based on link you provided.

You are welcome.

Yes, an amazon Kindle Fire might do it.

He'll need an application (to connect the Kindle to the printer) as I recall.

Check the mobile document links I sent and check at Amazon...

I bought a new Kindle Fire for my sister (opposite of me - tech challenged) - she can print sometimes (printer is fine, it is a matter of her figuring out how to do it) and she can sometimes send a photo using the Kindle.  Based on that small evidence, then you (your brother) might be OK with a Kindle Fire and his printer.

Sometimes the solution is, "Well, try it."

That is somewhat the case this time:  It's not ideal; if you can figure out "something" to talk to the printer, it should be OK.

At the least, this is a grand and generous gesture.

You are a good sister.

Now, you ad an "Admin", too.

Smiling.

Good Luck.

Stay Safe.
