Hi @dismiss, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The noSession error in HP Smart when trying to scan usually indicates an issue with authentication or connectivity. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Restart Everything
- Restart your printer by turning it off, unplugging it for 30 seconds, then turning it back on.
- Restart your computer or device.
- Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then reconnecting.
Sign Out and Sign In Again
- Open HP Smart.
- Click on your Profile icon (top-right corner).
- Select Sign out.
- Close and reopen HP Smart, then sign in again.
Check Internet Connection
- Ensure your printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Try switching to a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot) to check if the issue persists.
Reinstall HP Smart
- Uninstall HP Smart from your device.
- Restart your computer.
- Download the latest version of HP Smart from the HP website or the Microsoft Store/App Store.
- Reinstall HP Smart and sign in again.
Scan Using Windows/Mac Built-in Tools
If HP Smart is not working, try scanning using:
- Windows: Open Windows Fax and Scan (Windows + S > Search for Windows Fax and Scan > Open > Click New Scan).
- Mac: Open Preview > Click File > Import from Scanner.
Reset HP Smart App (Windows)
If you're using Windows:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for HP Smart.
- Click Advanced options.
- Click Reset, then restart your computer.
Try HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)
Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to detect and fix scanning issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
