Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Deskjet F4580 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer I use (F4580) has the physical scan button and the option to request the scan function through software. Both options stopped working. I've tried fixing the software and drivers, removing and reinstalling them, with zero success. All methods HP Support recommends aren't helping so far. Any suggestions or ideas? Happy to read them, thank you!

Hello,

Unfortunately, HP no longer provides drivers for this printer.

Please use the HP DeskJet F4500 All-in-One Printer series Full Software and Drivers to install the printer.

Right-click on DJ_AIO_06_F4500_140_408-5.exe, then on Run as administrator, and then click Yes. Follow the instructions to install your printer.

Concerning HP Solution Center, go to HP Solution Center doesn't open.
For the maintenance of your printer, please use HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Open the HPPSdr.exe.
  2. In the HP Print and Scan Doctor app, click on Start.
  3. Select your printer, then click on Next.
  4. Wait for HP Print and Scan Doctor to load the information from your printer.
  5. Click on the Printer menu, then on Printer Services....

You want to make a shortcut on the Windows desktop of the HP Scan application, do the following:

  1. Please go to the following path:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP DeskJet F4500 series\bin
  2. Right click on HPScan.exe, then click on Show more options, and then on Create shortcut.

Otherwise, try the HP Smart App.

Don't hesitate to contact us in case of need.

It worked, thank you very much for the support! I just want to add that the HP Scan doctor still doesn't recognize the printer and suggests other modifications for the device. Therefore, I'd guess the ''DJ_AIO_06_F4500_140_408-5.exe'' was the main reason the button started working again and even the Scan through software as well. Once again, thank you for solving our problem!
