When I press 'Scan to Email' on the display panel on my printer, I can only see one address (orginal address).

I would like to add another, but when I try to I get the message that the email already exists.

I tells me to check my inbox .

I can use a PIN to scan to the "new" email, but the printer doesn't save the address.

 

I have tried to add the address through the EWS but I can only enter Fax number; not email.

Also, the original address does not show here.

Reset the Email Function:

  • Sometimes resetting the email function can resolve issues with email setup. You might need to remove any existing setup and reconfigure it.

Update the Printer's Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date as updates often fix bugs or add functionality. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or from the printer's control panel under 'Settings' or 'Printer Maintenance'.

Use HP Smart App:

  • If you haven't already, install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. This app often provides a more user-friendly interface to manage printer settings compared to the printer's own control panel or the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Through HP Smart, try adding the email address to your printer’s address book.

Check the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Access the EWS by typing the printer's IP address into a web browser. You can find the IP address on the printer’s display by navigating to the network settings.
  • Once in the EWS, look for the email or scan to email settings (not just the fax settings) and try to add or manage email addresses there.

Verify Email Address Configuration:

  • If the printer claims that an email address already exists, it could be a glitch. Try adding a slightly different email address (if possible) to test if the issue is with a specific email or a general problem with the setup.
  • Ensure there are no restrictions in your email settings that might be preventing the printer from saving the email address.
