HP Officejet 6812

The device stopped working as it says it cannot connect to network but on reports it shows no issue with network.

Only error shown on wireless network test report that says "wireless radio on printer is turned OFF."

I have not changed anything and do not find this "radio" anywhere when searched online manual for my device.

Please help.

Thank you!

Also I have NO blue light on.  I can print wirelessly but clearly another issue exists.

@Beach12, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

If the blue light is off, it means the printer is not connected to a wireless network.

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

If you have issues with web services, perform the steps mentioned in this document - Cannot Connect to Web Services

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

So, I have shut down router, printer and Chromebook.

Restarted Router (when able to access internet from another device), restart printer and then Chromebook.

Still get "cannot connect to web services."

I looked at the link for connect to Web Services.  Unfortunately, that screen does not match mine.  At wireless, if touch only gives option to say "ok" to not using ethernet cable.  So, I cannot see a "wireless setup wizard" option anywhere.

On my network config page 802.11 wireless is "disabled."

Can you get access to the actual window prompts for my exact printer Officejet 6812?

Frustrating.

P.S. Sorry, on prior WORKING REPORTS it also said "disabled under 802.11 wireless "status" but has wireless direct as saying "on" when it worked and "on" when it currently does NOT scan.

Additional information regarding unable to have success as the video link does not match my printer and I don't have a 'WIZARD."

See prior additional note: On my network config page 802.11 wireless is "disabled."  BUT it was previously disabled when scanner was working!

Web Services Settings:  HP E Print is ON with the blue box.  Same for HP Printables.

Thanks!

@Beach12

Web services will not work if the wireless is OFF on the printer.

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

Refer to this document to know how to turn it on.

Let me know how it goes.

Again, I do not have a  Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.  Can you see the actual selection choices that my printer has?  Because as mentioned the video and your instructions do not match my choices.

I wonder should I select for Web Service Setup, change the YES for web services for HP E Print to a "NO" and then do a reset of Network and see if selecting the YES for web services will help???

What I don't understand is how this ability dropped and I did not change any settings.

@Beach12

You are using an HP Officejet 6812 printer, correct?

Do you see a wireless icon at the bottom of the printer screen? If yes, tap on it, it will open the wireless menu. Check the options available.

And yes, kindly turn on web services by selecting 'Yes'. ePrint can also be selected as yes.

Let me know how it goes.

Yes it is HP Officejet 6812 printer

The wireless blue icon is NOT on the screen for me to touch.  I had it before this problem began.  I think after a network restart I saw it very briefly and it was gone before I could touch.

My last comment indicated that the ePrint has always had a YES.  My question was should I turn it to NO and restart and then select YES?

I have uploaded what happens (aside from Restore Network- because I have done that repeatedly and it says it was done) with the next steps you have given:

1. Under Wireless, I only get the pop up to say "ok" in regard to ethernet (I do not have any cable ever attached to printer)

2.Under Web Services, I have ALWAYS seen that HP Eprint was ON.

Don't know why the upload made images to large and more difficult to read.
