I am not able to scan documents and email. When I try I get the error message "Cannot resolve the SMTP server". My IT department checked it out and we tried to reinstall a driver, but that also timed out/error after a long download. Any ideas on how I can fix so that I can begin scanning again? The printer is wireless. Model HP Laser Jet Pro 200 MFP M276nw.

Hi,
The first I suggest trying is setting an alternate DNS server to be used by the printer.
Tap the Network icon and the printer and then select NEtwork, locate the IP address of the printer.
Browse this IP from a web browser on your PC and click the Network tab.
Click Network Identification from the left pane and set the preferred DNS address as 8.8.8.8
Set the Alternative DNS address as 8.8.4.4 (Google Public DNS) and press OK or Apply,
Open the Scan tab, select Scan to Email and press Test for your profile to check if you may see any difference.
For any furhter issue it is not really possible getting any furhter without getting some details from you:
What specific email service do you use? is it any public service such as Gmail, Office 365 (which we may know or able to locate its server info) or a local SMTP server of your company?
If it is your own server your IT department would be the only help as your server settings and options are unknown outside of your company..
