Are you using the new HP App from the Microsoft store? If so, go back to HP Smart.
Or vice-versa, use the new HP App. Just yesterday, the new HP App failed to find my 5001 printer as it was offline. When I powered it back up, that app still could not find it but HP Smart found it immediately. After about 15 minutes the HP App finally found the 5001
Another scanner is also available
Go here and try the universal drivers.
It's name will be "HP Scan". Note that the OCR is not free unlike the OCR that some of the HP printers have available.

You need the full feature printer driver and also any scan tools.
Go here, enter your serial number, select software and look for full feature drivers
If no driver for windows 11 then you can go back as far as windows 7, 64 bit.
Alternately, post the exact model of your printer.

Thanks for that information but I am unable to locate "full feature drivers" . Am I supposed to be looking at the printer or the computer drives. Can't find in either. I can print wirelessly from computer if that's any help. My printer is HPDeskJet2820E. I have used the scanner previously and worked OK
Sorry but I am not very computer literate so need basic instructions. Any help you can give is appreciated

Maybe you have simply lost your network connection. Can you print from a PC? I assume you are running windows. I have no experience with MacOS.
The full feature driver is here, download and install it. If you still have a problem then it is the network connection.
If your printer model ends in the letter 'e' then click the spoiler for special needs.
Wi-Fi connection
Expand Spoiler for network setup instructions
Ideally, your Wi-Fi printer should connect to the modem or router. If your network has multiple boosters / repeaters, it is possible the printer may connect randomly to any of the units. The router needs to provide the same IP address on every connection. This rarely happens with random connects. An alternate Wi-Fi connection is Wi-Fi direct. Your laptop or smartphone prints directly to the printer and does not go through the router. Do not call any phone number revealed in any video or site.
This video shows how to connect to the router: 2800 2810 Wi-Fi Direct can be used to avoid configuring the router. Watch this: 2800 2810 2842 |

I am able to print from my computer which uses Window11. It is a HP Pro Book. It does not
Still having trouble using the printer. Everything else works OK and the printer shows it is connected to the WI fi. Thanks for your patience and assistance. Any other advice would be great. In the meantime I'll keep trying
