Hi @JackFloto

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it feels when scanning suddenly stops working—especially when everything else seems fine. Thank you for checking thoroughly and reaching out to get this resolved.

To restore scan-to-computer functionality for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e on your Windows PC, download and install the full feature software from HP’s official site.

Let’s walk through how to reload the correct software so your printer and computer can communicate smoothly again.

Step 1: Download the Full Feature Software

  • Visit the official HP driver page for your printer:
HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e Software and Drivers
  • Select Windows 11 (or your current version) if not auto-detected.
  • Under “Driver-Product Installation Software,” download the Full Feature Software and Driver package.

This includes scanning utilities, print drivers, and the HP App integration needed for scan-to-computer.

Step 2: Install and Configure

  • Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen steps.
  • When prompted, choose your connection type (Wi-Fi or USB).
  • Complete the setup and restart your computer.

Step 3: Test Scanning

  • Open the HP App from your Windows Start menu.
  • Select your printer, then go to Scan > Preferences.
  • Choose Color, set resolution to 300 dpi, and run a test scan.

Step 4: Confirm Windows Services

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
  • Ensure it’s set to Automatic and is running.

This service is essential for scanning to work properly on Windows.

Step 5: Optional Scan App Test

  • Open the Windows Scan app from the Start menu.
  • Select your printer and try scanning a document.
  • If successful, this confirms the scanner is fully recognized by the system.

Once the full software is installed and WIA is active, your scan-to-computer workflow should feel seamless again.
