Greetings,
This likely applies to all HP printers with scan capability, but how do you change the default folder a document is scanned to when you initiate from the printer?
Whenever I scan something to a PDF format, it saves to my photos folder - not too convienient.
I would prefer to have a desktop folder for all my scans (except scan to email) PDFs, JPEGs, etc.
I'm sure this can be changed, but I can't seem to locate any insrtuctions on how to do it (on a Mac).
Any help appreciated, thank you.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know how to change the default scan folder.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Follow below steps to change the default scan folder.
- You may change the default settings by changing the default scan shortcuts from the HP software:
- Open the printer software and select Scan a document or Photo.
- Click the Advanced Settings button for the used shortcut and select the destination folder within the Destination tab.
- Click OK and then click the Scan button.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I have basically the same question. I'm trying to change the destination folder for my scans (it currently goes to my Pictures folder).
I have tried the above but don't see where, on my Officejet Pro 8720 that I have the same path(s) as above to change the folder destination. I did use the desktop scan application and changed the destination folder there, but when I scan directly from the printer, it always goes to the Pictures folder.
I'm scanning to a Mac (MacBook Pro) running Mojave.
Please help!
