Hello everyone!

I have a strange request - is there a way to import an exported profile (scan shortcut) via the command line?

I work for a public school system and we're trying to 'parent proof' the enrollment process for our parents.  We have some publicly accessible kiosk computers that we have set up for enrolling new students.  We'd expect that most parents who would be using this likely don't have a computer themselves so they may not be as familiar with computers.  So, as part of this computer configuration we try to make sure that no settings get saved permanently on the computer (we automatically clean up the local accounts profile on the computer, purging any settings and files that aren't cleaned up).  We're using a HP ScanJet Pro 4200 S1 to scan in the documents and the HP scan application (along with the HP Scan Basic software, version 63.x).

Cleaning up the local user profile works pretty well, but it also means that any specific scan profile we create is also removed automatically.  We can specify a particular scan profile as a command line option to a shortcut, so it would be nice to be able to either permanently save, or automatically restore any profile that gets cleaned up along with the profile.  But aside from *nix versions out there, I'm not finding anything useful.

Thanks!
