Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 All-in-One Printer series
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I use my hp 8740 printer mainly for scanning.

 

I have 2 different laptops, one for work and one for personal.

 

As i use it at different times can i just remove the usb cable and plug it into the correct laptop when i need to scan something or would it cause issues.

Hi,

You may use  USB and plug it as required, however be sure to install the printer drivers prior plugging the USB for the first time to any of the PCs.

 

You may find the printer software if required below:
