Connecting Windows Fax & Scan to my HP 5740

I am trying to send faxes through Windows Fax & Scan on my HP Laptop, to my networked 5740. 

I have downloaded the Universal Fax Driver.  But I don't know where to go from there.  Any links you can point me to?

Hi JJS,

You should not use Windows Fax & Scan, HP Universal Fax Driver uses its own interface.

Send your print job to the added HP Universal Fax Driver print queue, then within the shown print dialog select Local Devices for a USB connected printer or click Search for Network Printers and select your network-connected printer.

Check the bottom 'Add this printer to my printers and faxes folder) and press the Fax button.

Add the Fax number in the top box and press Add, then press the Send Fax button.

 My installation is so screwed up.  I don't know if I have the HP Universal Fax Driver.  How can I tell?

From the Start menu click the gear icon and select Apps, there search for HP and look if the HP Universal Fax Driver is listed among the installed programs.

If it is not listed, download and install the HP Universal Fax Driver below:

When completing the installation, print any page to the newly added HP Universal Fax Driver printer, then follow the steps on screen to select your printer.
