Hello @LTR37 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

If you're having trouble connecting your HP ScanJet Pro 2000 s2 Sheet-feed Scanner to a Windows 11 system, here are several steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Compatibility:

    • Ensure that your scanner model is compatible with Windows 11. You can verify compatibility from the HP Support website.
  2. Install Latest Drivers:

    • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest scanner drivers compatible with Windows 11. Ensure that both basic and TWAIN drivers are installed, as these are essential for proper scanner functionality.
  3. Use HP Smart App:

    • Install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store, as it can help manage HP scanner and printer functions and facilitate easier setup.
  4. USB Connection:

    • Ensure that the scanner is properly connected via USB. Try a different USB port, preferably a USB 3.0 port, and ensure that the USB cable is functioning correctly.
  5. Scanner Configuration in Windows:

    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners and check if the scanner is listed. If not, use "Add a printer or scanner" to detect and add it.
  6. Run the Scanner Troubleshooter:

    • Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter to diagnose and fix common scanner-related problems. Navigate to Settings > System > Troubleshoot, select "Other troubleshooters," and run the "Printer" troubleshooter.
  7. Update Windows:

    • Ensure Windows 11 is fully updated, as updates can include important driver updates and patches for peripheral compatibility.
  8. Check Device Manager:

    • Open Device Manager and ensure there are no error icons next to the scanner entry. If there are issues, try updating the driver or uninstalling and reinstalling it.
  9. HP Print and Scan Doctor:

    • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can diagnose and fix many common scanner issues.
  10. Reset the Scanner:

    • Power off the scanner, disconnect it from both power and computer, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect and power it back on.

If Problems Persist:

If you continue to face connectivity issues after these troubleshooting steps, consider reaching out to HP Support for further assistance, as there may be more involved issues that require technical support.
