When trying to copy an 8 1/2 x 11" page, it only copies 8 1/2 x 10" worth. No matter what I do, or where I place the page, it does not copy the entire page, unless I reset it to fit the page. Is there something I am missing? This is the first printer that I have owned that has done this. Seems odd that I have to place each document on the glass, instead of feeding from the top, to obtain a multipage document copy. It also does it when scanning for pdf. Any ideas what settings I can change that will enable it to see the entire document?

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.
I reviewed the case regarding issues with the printer. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Superb description and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉
Paper type and size in the input tray that does not match the paper settings for the copy job can result in partial copies.
-
Reload the paper you are coping on, and make sure the paper width guides are pushed in so they are resting next to the edge of the paper stack.
-
Touch Copy, Copy Document, or Copy Photo on the printer control panel.
-
Touch Settings or the gear icon
to access and change the following settings.NOTE:
You might need to scroll down the screen to access all settings.
-
Paper Type: Copy speed can be impacted if photo paper is selected for a plain paper copy job. Select the type of plain or photo paper you are making the copies on.
-
Tray Selection: Select the paper input tray with the paper you are using for your copies.
-
Paper Size: Select the paper size you are making the copies on, or select Automatic to let the printer detect the paper loaded in the tray.
-
Resize or Size: Change the size of the copy. Options can include a list of presets, custom sizes between 25 and 400 percent of the original size, Fit to Page, and an Actual Size setting to make a borderless copy.
-
-
Select Save Current Settings or Set as New Defaults to retain the settings for future copy jobs.
-
Load the original document or photo, and then start a copy job.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. 😉

Regrettably, that did not help. The only way I can get a copy of everything on a page, even after it's align properly on the glass, is to tell it to fit to page. This causes the copy to be reduced quite a bit, about 15%, which makes some of the documents very difficult to read. I've never encountered this type of issue with the printer from HP before period I am using brand new cartridges And I've done all of the alignment work. This printer is only around a year old. Any other ideas?
