To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please try a few troubleshooting steps provided below so that I can assist you further?

 

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Restarting the printer can help clear temporary issues that may be affecting the copy function:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet, then reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on and try copying again.

 

2. Check for Error Indicators

Review the printer’s control panel for any blinking lights or error messages:

  • Look for warning lights such as Resume or Attention, or any displayed error codes.
  • If present, the printer may pause copy functions until the issue is resolved.
  • Refer to the HP Customer Support page or diagnostic tools to identify and address the issue.

 

3. Clean the Scanner Glass

Debris or smudges on the scanner can interfere with copying:

  • Lift the scanner lid.
  • Gently clean the scanner glass and the white backing using a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with a mild glass cleaner.

 

4. Test Using the HP Smart App

If the printer buttons are not responding properly, try copying through the app:

  • Open the HP Smart App on your phone or computer.
  • Select Printer Scan or Camera Scan to scan the document.
  • Print the scanned file to confirm whether the scanning and printing functions are working correctly.
