I want to set up a shortcut on my toolbar for the Scan function. Right now, I have to open HP Smart, then click on Scan to Scan. When I am at work, where I also have a large HP printer, there is a scan icon. I cannot find anyway to create this, even though I have found other postings that seem to indicate there is a solution, but they don't work and I can[t find anything in the User Guide (of course) and I'm sure everyone knows that MS Virtual Agent is a complete waste!

I doubt the Scan Shortcut on the Task bar is from HP Smart.
You can PIN the whole HP Smart application to the Taskbar - you cannot PIN pieces of HP Smart to the Taskbar.
For example
Windows key > All Apps > scroll down to category H
Right-Click on the application > Pin to Start
and / or
Right-Click on the application > More > Pin to Taskbar
==================================================================
You can PIN the HP Scan software to your Taskbar.
HP Scan is part of the Full Feature Software (full driver).
Assuming you have the Full Feature Software installed on your printer,
Right-Click on the HP Scan icon on your Desktop > Properties > Open File Location
When Windows Explorer opens and highlights the HP Scan executable,
Right-Click on HP Scan file > and PIN the software to the Taskbar
Example - possible location
Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e series\bin
Right-Click HPScan.exe
Select Pin to Taskbar
and / or
Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

Thanks. I have pinned HP Smart to my taskbar. When I have time., I will try to see if I have the full feature software. I just assumed it came with the printer. If I can reach someone by phone, I may be able to get help. Other than that, there is very little assistance. Again, Virtual Agent is a total waste and no help at all. Thanks for your reply
