Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

Last year my old HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 started printing about an inch down the page that we could not find a fix for so we decided to get a replacement.

The custom “Resize” was pivotal to countless projects and so have all been halted without it.
We checked the models on hp’s website that confirmed HP Envy 6555e had a reduce/enlarge feature and now that we’ve opened it, it does not. Double checked on google thinking maybe I just wasn't seeing it and another forum post confirmed it cannot do this.

Can anyone tell me a printer that will also do customized reduce/enlarge the same as the

OfficeJet Pro 8710

Ex:  98%, 127%, etc

OK -- The Envy specifications mention Copy "resize" as supported in the HP App.

Copier Reduce/enlargeVia HP app

True -- supporting the reduce / enlarge feature through an application is not the same thing as supporting that feature on the printer control panel.  Depending on the search context, it's possible the search results might read similarly.  ?

True -- Google does not always understand the query or misses the intent -- searches are based in keywords and phrases.

Even should you wish to eventually purchase elsewhere, your best "first stop" is the HP Store.

The HP Store sells only current models (unless clearly marked otherwise) --

The tech notes and comparisons allow you to make an informed choice.

If you wish -- and only then -- you may call the store and speak with a sales rep.

Printers are one of those purchases where you "get what you pay for"  -- prices have increased, too.

AND

It is important to know what you are willing to spend compared to what you can get for that price point.

Instant Ink is an optional Print-by-Page subscription service.

Instant Ink is not bundles of ink showing up at your door each month.

Excellent for some customers -- READ before signing up for a trial or subscription.

Ask, read, then act.

What else?

The HP Envy 6555e is a different class of printer than are any of the HP OfficeJet Pro series.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is the "little brother" to the 8720 through 8740 (depending on region) --

While the 8710 lacked some of the "best" of what the series offered, it did include all the basics for the model type.   Importantly -- These printers include a full service touchpad Printer Control Panel.

The type of Printer Control Panel does not always guarantee the printer includes what you want -- it does generally indicate whether or not the printer includes several onboard features that require additional printer control panel options.

Should you want and need the same features you had in the OfficeJet Pro 8710 - and were available in the top-of-line models in that series - consider one of the top line OfficeJet Pro 91xx printers.  True -- these models cost more up front.  Important distinction:  The OfficeJet Pro 81xx series is similar but lacks key features available in the 91xx series -- For example, the 81xx lacks the nice-to-have automatic 2-sided scan feature.

If you are asking about the COPY feature in the printer, then the answer is yes for the models offered for sale in the HP Store

I believe the Copy feature is available on all models in the OfficeJet Pro 81xx series.

Not sure?

Check the specifications at the place of purchase OR at the product home for the model.

Not solved!

I got a new printer from the series you recommended and it ALSO does NOT do the custom percentage resize.

Can someone please provide me a handful of printer options that have the same custom resize option? It doesn't  have to be the same scrolling to select setting.

@Kaye03

I am sorry you are disappointed.

Turns out I don't understand "scrolling resize by percentage feature"

IF you are asking about HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e

then

Copier Reduce/enlarge25 to 400%
Copier SettingsNumber of Copies; Sided; Lighter/Darker; Resize; Quality; Paper Size; Paper Type; Collate

Copy Reduce / Enlarge = included

2-sided Copy option = not included

What?

"Sided" does not mean "2-sided"

That said, I did believe you were asking about the COPY reduce / enlarge feature and the printer seems to have that option.

You should return the printer to place of purchase.

Before purchase, ask the seller about "scrolling resize by percentage feature"
