When I use my document feeder lately - 2 sided scanning - the odd pages all have a line through them (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.).....  I would like to know how to remove the document feeder so I can clean it, or, how to clean to remove this line.  It does not look very professional to have a line on your pages of a PDF document.

Thank you,.....

Hi @Wishboy14,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are experiencing lines on paper when using a document feeder, it could be due to several reasons:

Dirt or debris on the scanner glass or document feeder rollers: Inspect the scanner glass and the rollers for any dirt, debris, or dust. Clean them using a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a mild cleaner recommended by the HP Manual. HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer User Manual

Damaged or worn-out rollers: Over time, the rollers in the document feeder can become worn out or damaged, causing lines or streaks on the scanned documents. Check the condition of the rollers and replace them if necessary according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Inconsistent feeding of paper: Ensure that the paper is fed into the document feeder is of good quality and is not torn, wrinkled, or damp. Also, make sure that the paper is loaded properly and that the guides are adjusted correctly to prevent misfeeds.

Scanner calibration: Some document scanners have calibration settings that need to be adjusted periodically to ensure accurate scanning. Check the scanner settings or refer to the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate the scanner.

Software settings: Check the software settings of the scanner to ensure that they are configured correctly for the type of document being scanned and the desired scan quality.

Hardware malfunction: If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, there may be a hardware malfunction with the document feeder or the scanner itself.

I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your response.  It is greatly appreciated....

I have tried most of your suggestions - accept the calibration one - and I still have line(s).  I need to tell you that this line on the paper only appears on every-other page (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.) when using the document feeder, double sided printing.  When I use just the single sided option, the paper and scan come out fine - no line.

I would love to clean the rollers, but am not sure as to what I am doing.  I am also wondering if I should remove the document feeder assembly and clean both sides of it.  But, I do not know how to remove it.

I know you gave me a couple of HP help items, but when I look for these, I can't seem to find them.  Maybe I am daft, I don't know.......

Any thougts, ideas, or URL links of "How To" would greatly accepted.  Thanks again for your help !!
