A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

I believe we can increase or decrease the scan resolution(ppi) using HP Easy Scan. The following steps should help you adjust the scan resolution using HP Easy scan:

1.) Open HP Easy Scan. If you don't have HP Easy Scan installed, you may download and install HP Easy Scan from here. 

2.) Click Presets and select Edit Settings.

 

3.) Click Resolution and select the desired resolution.

 

 

4.) Click Done.

5.) Try to Scan.
