Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I convinced the missus to buy her first Laser printer HP Color Laser-Jet Pro 4302dw. It has been difficult to set-up and to work with. We have now got to the point whereby she has my HP Pagewide Pro MFD 477dw and I have her laser printer.

It was difficult to get her prints to come out back-to-back, but she managed by using the front paper tray. Connecting to my computer I can't get back-to-back printing working.

More so than this, I bought the printer as a printer/scanner/copying multi-function machine, it isn't. The scanning on this machine is only scan to USB not to computer so might as well not be a scanner. The printer is crap and disingenuous to call it a multi-function machine.

I've been a HP user for years but will be looking elsewhere, and probably sooner than I thought

First off, this device will certainly scan to a computer, you need to configure the scan to network folder so it scans to a folder on your desktop. This method requires no software to be installed on the computer.

Secondly, the duplex issue. It has been pretty common lately that the driver self-configuration routine fails to detect the presence of duplexing on a printer. Easily fixed. On your PC, go to control panel>devices and printers and right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the device settings tab and scroll down till you see an option labelled "duplex unit" and change from auto detect to installed.

Hi Repairatrooper,

Uummm, I've been trying to resolve this issue for best part of 3 days now. I've actually got the duplex printing both sides and in colour. The scanner is still no where near being resolved. Followed your instructions, downloaded from 123.HP.com/setup, set-up a folder to send scanned docs to on the PC yet all to no avail - I still cannot scan > computer nor to USB drive?

Over the last 25years I've had many printers, usually having 3 at any point because I'm a heavy print user and I've never had problems like this setting up a printer. I started with Epsom and changed to HP, but also have a Canon Pixmar 100S Pro for printing photographs - its not like I'm a novice really. Why the LaserJet Pro 4302 does not just plug'n'play is beyond me, like my missus I'm just about ready for throwing the thing out of a window its so frustrating!!

I'm using Windows 10 and Microsoft as the OS with Microsoft 365 as the office suite if that makes any difference.

I've tried a number of uninstall/re-install's as well as multiple downloads?

Sorry if I created some confusion. Scan to folder is not setup via 123. You need to go into the embedded web server to the scan option and select scan to network folder. Create a shared folder on your computer and point the printer to that folder. i do not currently have a  4300 on my network to screen shot the setup.

@Griffles Here is an HP video on setting up scan to folder on your printer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ucr48wVmTYw

HP also has a video on how to create the folder on your PC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT13_cNZKnw
