Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

When I use the flat top scan glass, there are no issues. However, anytime I use the ADP to scan a document, it stretches out a portion of the page, usually towards the top. I have thoroughly cleaned all the parts and performed all the troubleshooting steps multiple times, but the issue persists, causing an elongated portion of images or text to appear with each scan using the document feeder. I often scan documents that are many pages long and cannot scan them one at a time on the glass.

This is for an HP OfficeJet Pro 9025

Hi @NateWS,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. I understand your scans look fine when using the flatbed, but scans from the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) appear distorted or stretched. Since you’ve already cleaned the parts and gone through standard troubleshooting, let’s try a few more focused steps:

Check for debris in the ADF feed path

Even a small speck of dust or piece of paper can cause page slippage, leading to stretched images.

Open the ADF cover and carefully inspect the rollers and separation pad for dirt or wear.

Clean the ADF rollers

Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

Wipe down the rollers and allow them to dry completely.

Check for roller wear

If the rollers look shiny, cracked, or worn, they may not be gripping the paper properly. Replacement ADF rollers or pads may be needed.

Update printer firmware

Go to the HP Support site and install the latest firmware for your OfficeJet Pro 9025. Firmware updates often fix scanning calibration issues.

Adjust scan settings

When scanning from the ADF, try lowering the resolution or selecting "Text" instead of "Image" mode to see if the distortion improves.

Test with different paper

Try scanning with fresh, smooth sheets (not wrinkled, curled, or stapled) to rule out feed irregularities.

I hope this helps.
