Document feeder can't pick up original when trying to scan. I also get this message when trying to scan from the glass. There are no paper blockages and rollers are clean. I have already reset the printer and re-installed HP Smart.

I understand you've already ensured that there are no paper blockages and that the rollers are clean, but the document feeder still isn't working properly, there are a few additional steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

 

Check for any obstructions: Even if you've checked once, it's worth checking again for any small pieces of paper or debris that might be obstructing the document feeder's operation.

Reset the printer again: Sometimes, a second or even third reset can resolve issues that weren't fixed with the initial reset. Try unplugging the printer from the power source, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in.

Update printer firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. HP often release firmware updates to address known issues and improve performance.

Check for driver updates: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can typically download the latest drivers from the HP website. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

Inspect the document feeder mechanism: Carefully inspect the document feeder mechanism for any signs of damage or wear. If any parts appear to be damaged or worn out.
