Document feed scanner is making multiple copies of same document. I have 2 documents in my document feeder. only 1st one is getting scanned that too like 20+ copies. I am  using HP Smart app for scanning.
I was chatting with support but got disconnected, last they told me was that my printer needs to be replaced, but all this started after a printer firmware update few weeks back, do I really need to replace printer ?

Good news (sort of).

You are OK - no new printer needed.

The issue might be a "bug" in HP Smart (Mac OS) - or - (at the least) a currently unexplained error.

HP has been made aware of our reports.

The fix, when it's ready, will likely take form of an updated version of the HP Smart application.

For now, use a different scan software and avoid the issue.

From @ShlomiL

Please try scanning with HP Easy Scan and check if it may provide better results:

Looking forward for your feedback, may you get the expected results with above scanning solution as a workaround or may you see any similar behavior?

Using easy scan app works, doesn't create multiple copies (Though user interface is terrible).

Well, had I not been distracted during my chat with Support, I would have been sitting with a new Printer and same issue 🙄

Hi,

Please update the HP Smart app to its latest version, this should resolve the problem:
