How can I set up an 8024e to perrmit double sided scanning?

Moved because only duplex printing:

A) Printer settings Duplexer:
Search Windows for 'devices', and then click the Devices and Printers control panel setting in the results.

Right-click the icon for your printer model, and then
click Device Settings tab
Installable Options > Duplexer: installed

If not, change to installed.

B) Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory:

Enter the Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

If the Options > Duplexer or Duplex Accessory is not displayed, then download only HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 All-in-One EasyStart Printer Setup Software , File name: HPEasyStart-13.6.5-OJP8020_49_11_4670_1_Webpack.exe (208.4 MB)

1. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list. 
2. Restart the PC
3. Close all programs
4. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the HPEasyStart-13.6.5-OJP8020_49_11_4670_1_Webpack.exe
5. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
6. Restart the PC again
7. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.

HP Scan, you must change from "1-sided" to:

and very important, dpi must be set less than or equal to 300!

Hi,

Apologies for jumping in.

Please be aware that an HP Officejet Pro 8024e printer supports automatic two-sided printing only, not two sided scanning, it provide a standard duplex, not 2 sided ADF:

You may manually scan both sides using the HP Scan Application by reloading the other side, the printer cannot perform any such automatically.
