Double sided scans

I just bought a new HP Officejet Pro 8028e printer which replace my HP OfficeJet 6960. I do not see the option for double sided scans like my Officejet 6960. The neat feature of the double-sided scans was it reordered the pages after the back side of the scanned document after the backside finished scanning.

Why was this not included at least the Pro printers?

True - 2-sided scan was included in the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 series.

Example Specifications > Scanning specifications

Review the following for the scanning specifications.

• Image editor included
• Integrated OCR software automatically converts scanned text to editable text
• Scan speeds vary according to the complexity of the document
• Automatic duplexing (two-sided scanning) from ADF, 6970 series only
• Twain-compliant interface (Windows only)
• Resolution: 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) dpi optical
• Color: 24-bit color, 8-bit grayscale (256 levels of gray)
• Maximum scan size from glass: 216 x 297 mm (8.5 x 11.7 inches)
• Maximum scan size from ADF:
  • 1-sided: 216 x 356 mm (8.5 x 14.0 inches)
  • 2-sided: U.S. Letter 216 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11.0 inches) or A4 210 x 297 mm (8.3 x 11.7 inches)
  • Two sided scanning is not supported for the concerned models: HP OfficeJet 6962, OfficeJet Pro 6960, 6968.

2-sided scan is included in the HP OfficeJet Pro 9000 series (not the 8000).

For example -

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e supports double pass 2-sided scan - first side scanned, paper drawn back into printer,  second side scanned.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e supports single pass 2-sided scan - both sides are scanned with a single pass.

Next,

The HP Officejet Pro 8028e -- with full driver printer software installed --

Use HP Scan > scan 2-sided Manual

That means:  load stack into ADF, scan first side, follow instructions to flip paper - 2nd side is scanned the the pages are automatically reordered.

Sorry for the delay in my response. Life got in the way. Got involved with several other projects and time got away from me.

Your suggestion worked! 

After trying to reinstall the full version of the driver. It kept hanging up on me. I finally **bleep**. The agent was great. Gave the agent a 10 out of 5. What the issue ended up being was that I had several other HP printers installed. I thought that I uninstalled all of them using the Control Panel. They were not showing up as an HP printer (alphabetically). They were showing up as Product .... printers rather than HP since they were HP printers.

Once they were uninstalled, everything worked as expected.
