HP Scanjet G4050
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello, Community!

I am working on a 2020 Mac running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 (I haven't updated to BigSur).  My issue is I'm wanting to connect my old HP Scanjet G4050, but the OS appears not to be supported. Does anyone have a workaround for this, or is it time to upgrade my scanner?  I do apologize for the categories not indicating "Scanner" stuff. It appears to be no separate category for it.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Yes, unfortunately, that is true.  The HP drivers will not work in macOS Catalina.

But it does look like VueScan will be able to help you out.  According to their documentation the G4050 is supported.

Thank you, IronBadger. I'm so happy to hear about VueScan. I'm headed there now to give it a try.
