Quick question. I just set up my new printer. I set it up to print from my phone (E setup) but I also plugged in the USB so I could print and scan from my computer, not E-printing. Its not giving me the option to do that. It also did not automatically download the usual icon on to my computer, so I can manual scan and see the tools and ink levels, etc. Can I NOT use the USB on my computer and just use the E-printing on my phone ?

You should be able to use USB connection to your computer and use Wireless Direct Printing from your other devices.

 

1. For your computer:

 

    (a) Please download the following software and drivers and save on your computer

          https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/EN7800/EN7800_Full_WebPack_44.4.2678.exe

    (b) Right click downloaded file and select run as administrator,

    (c) Select USB and plug USB cable to your computer (do not plug before the process and avoid to use USB 3.0 port).

    (d) Follow on screen instructions

 

Note: It uses software, manuals from 78xx series

 

    After the completion, you should see printer icon on desktop OR at least under Windows Menu (when you hit Win key). You can use this (called HP Printer Assistant to check inks ...).

 

2. For other devices

 

    (a) For iSomething devices (from Apple), please Apple Airprint to connect to printer. If not available please use Store to install HP Smart app to print - It will ask a PIN for the first time, please look at the printer screen

    (b) For others: Using Store to install HP Smart app and use this app to print again you need PIN for the first time.
