@Daniela4

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Was any hardware or software changes are done on the printer?

Can you make a copy?

Are you getting this message while printing?

I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-4630-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5305049/document/...

Restart the printer.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

I have the HP Envy 4500 and have the exact same error message.  It is happening when I try to use the scanner.  I have tried the hard reset and it does not work.  This is my 2nd HP printer, maybe it's time to go to another brand.

@opal106,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are getting "0x" error message on your HP Envy printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started? Are you able to print from the computer?

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?

Are you able to move the carriage freely?

Does that Scanner bulb light up?

Does the scanner bar move when you open the lid & press the copy button?

Have you checked if the unit can make a standalone copy? If ‘YES’ then it means the scan hardware of the All-in-One works fine.

Have you tried to update the printer firmware by downloading it from our HP support website, while having the printer connected using USB connection.

Let's start off by updating the printer firmware. If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to install the latest firmware update on your printer from our HP support website. For more details on how to update, please use this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to do a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Let’s first try and make a “photocopy” to determine whether the issue is with the printer or not. Place a document on the scanner glass and choose “Copy” option. If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine.

Could you please respond to this post with the details as well as with the results of the troubleshooting as this will help me in understanding the issue and provide you with an accurate information or steps that should help you resolve this issue.

Eagerly waiting for your response!
