Hi @TUKAYULA
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
The important point is that the EWS credentials are not normally the same as the HP account credentials you use to sign in to the HP website/app. The EWS is the printer's local administrator interface, and the OfficeJet Pro 9720 has its own EWS administrator password. The username and password requested by the Embedded Web Server (EWS) are different from the credentials used to sign in to your HP account or the HP website.
Please try the following:
- On the printer's touchscreen, open the network/Wi-Fi information and note the printer's IP address.
- On a computer connected to the same network, enter that IP address directly into a web browser to open the printer's EWS.
- If the EWS asks for credentials, use the printer's administrator credentials. If you have previously configured an EWS administrator password, use that password rather than your HP account password.
- If you can access the EWS, go to Security > Password Settings and check whether an administrator password has been configured.
- If your goal is to scan through Web Scan, also check Settings > Security > Administrator Settings and make sure WebScan/Web Scan from EWS is enabled, then apply the change.
If you do not know the EWS administrator password, please do not repeatedly guess the credentials, as the printer may have security/lockout settings enabled. In that situation, we would need to determine how the EWS administrator password was originally configured before recommending a reset.
