Hi @ZALPS,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If HP Easy Scan is crashing upon opening on your Mac, here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.

Update HP Easy Scan:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of HP Easy Scan installed. Check the Mac App Store for any updates to the application.

Restart Your Mac:

  • A simple restart can sometimes resolve software issues.

Check for macOS Updates:

  • Ensure your macOS is up-to-date as compatibility issues can arise with older versions of macOS.

Reset HP Easy Scan Preferences:

  • Close the application and navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/ and look for any plist files related to HP Easy Scan (e.g., com.hp.EasyScan.plist) and move them to the trash. This will reset the preferences when you open the app again.

Reinstall HP Easy Scan:

  • If the crash persists, uninstall HP Easy Scan by moving it to the trash, and then download and reinstall it from the Mac App Store.

Check Printer and Scanner Drivers:

  • Make sure that your printer and scanner drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your device model.

Check System Logs:

  • Use the "Console" utility in macOS to check for any logs or error messages that occur when the application crashes. This may provide clues for the issue.

Use an Alternative HP Scanning Tool:

  • If the problem persists, you might consider using an alternative HP scanning tool such as the HP App, which is available on the Mac App Store.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
