Hardware:

14" Macbook Pro, M1 Max processor, 32 GB RAM (w/ 2 Dell monitors & Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad).

HP OfficeJet Pro 8740

 

Software:

macOS Ventura 13.5.2

HP Easy Scan 1.11.0

 

Configuration:

Printer connects via WiFi. Computer itself connects to the network via both WiFi and Ethernet cable.

 

Problem Description:

For several years, EasyScan has worked flawlessly with this printer. Then, suddenly, last night it could not connect to the printer. EasyScan said, "An error occurred while communicating with the scanner." But the printer still prints documents without a hitch. Even more puzzling, I was able to scan something by using HP Smart without any connection problem

So what is the solution?

Nobody has proposed a solution. So, I still don't know.
