Hi everybody, I have an Officejet Pro 8710 and would like to set up the Scan to a network folder.  Unfortunately, my ESW (Embedded Web Server, type in the IP Address of the printer) is locked with an Administrator Login..... I didn't set this up, but need desperately to log in. who can help me?

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. 

 

I understand that you need assistance to unlock the EWS page of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer. I'll be glad to help you with this case.

 

Restoring the network defaults on the printer should unlock the EWS. Following steps will help to restore the network default settings:
 

 

The printer may disconnect from the wireless network. You will need to reconnect the printer again by running the wireless setup wizard as shown below:

 

 

Once the printer is connected to the wireless network, please try to access the wireless setup wizard. If the issue persists then you will need to perform a semi full reset on the printer. The semi full reset will completely restore the printer to its original factory condition. A private message has been sent to your with the semi full reset steps.

could somebody please help me reset my printer? THe embedded web server is locked and all of the boxes are locked (says by admin) so the updates are locked.  When HP Smart app show the Home Page with the 8 squares for Energy Save Mode, Web Services, Printer Update, Network Summary, etc.  On six of these squares is a Locked logo shown. And a msg. that reads: This feature has been locked by the administrator.   When clicking on any of those squares, a Log in menue comes up.  It shows "Windows Security, HP Smart and The Server (number) is asking for your user name & password. The server reports tht it is from admin."  I am Administrator, but I have no idea what the User Name and Passord is is asking for??  I've tried using "admin" with many passwords.  The password reset doesn't work because the printer update is locked, and I can't unlock it because I can't get the embedded web server unlocked. One message said somebody sent a private message on how to do this ( I followed the instructions given to restore network settings - no  luck).  Please help thanks
