I am having issues with the printer allowing me to scan documents to my PC.  I can print and scan from the PC but I have multiple documents I want to scan and having to place them on the scan bed then return to my PC in another room and use the software to scan then return to the printer to start the next document is tedious. the printer should be able to scan directly to my PC and it does occasionally but not very often.  what can I do to fix this?  is it a problem with the printer or with my PC?  Seems every HP printer I buy has issues with communicating with the computers in my house.

I run a wired connection to my router and the printer is connected via WIFI to the same router so it's on the same local network.

The router is an Asus AC 1750 model.

I am rather tech literate but this issue has me baffled.

@Dreadmyst, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

A full-featured driver should be installed to use "scan to computer" feature on the printer screen.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver. (If not installed)

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Open the HP Full-featured software by clicking on the printer icon on the desktop screen or by searching windows for HP Envy 5052

Search Windows for HP > HP Envy 5052 > double click to open the HP Printer assistant > Click on Scan

Click on Manage scan to computer >

Click on Enable > Check the box at the bottom > Close

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried the full web driver before but it got stuck on the installing ink window. didn't notice the skip this step before and after completing the install it seems to be working for now but I have noticed that in the past it works when it wants to.   When it stops communicating usually a power cycle of the printer gets it to work again. When we had the Officejet 4630 that was the common fix anyways.

atm, it seems to be working. thank you.
