Envy Photo Scan failure

Have all new Envy Photo 7855 ink, also new PC running Win 10  The 7855 scans for copies fine, but will not scan to the PC, nor will it scan from the PC.

PC and all software is brand new and updated. Really need to solve this.

Have you installed printer software and drivers to your computer yet ? Can you print from it ?  Please HP Scan Extended using the following software

     ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, for Windows 10:

(a) Hit Win key,
(b) Scroll down to HP group/folder,
(c) Double click "HP Scan Extended"

Great! so it does work. Happiness. Will I have to go there each time to scan or will it somehow become part of my Envy icon?

Also, while it does enable scaning from the PC to the scanner, it does not appear to allow me to enable scanning from the scanner control panel to the PC

Am I missing something?

It is a software therefore it only run on your computer. You can create a shortcut on desktop or taskbar. Please try

(a) Hit Win key,

(b) Scroll down to HP and expand,

(c) Right click Scan Extended and Select More,

(d) Put icon on Taskbar

 

If you wish to put on Desktop, you can dreg from Taskbar to Desktop.

Thanks! got it done. Do you think HP will ever update the Envy 7855 software to include it for win 10 machines? seems to be a common probleem and it would be nice to be able to use the 7855 control panel like you should. 

Still I appreciate you helping me to be able to scan at all. (both Network and USB)

once I downloaded the scan software it worked fine--they should include that with the all-in-one printer
