I haven't used the scan function in a while and when I did it was always awesome. Now I can't use my scanner and when I try to launch it I get an error message 704. I can't figure out why the scanner is not working but the printer is. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer tried switching it from wifi to network and I still have the same issue. I can also no longer use the utility button as it says it's missing components. HP no longer uses installers for MacOS since they are supposed to be baked into the OS but that hasn't stopped the problems that still come up. I'm hoping someone can help me with a definitive answer.

Fixed the issue. I did an uninstall using the directions previously mentioned using HP Easy Start this removed my drivers. I went to https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US and downloaded the HP drivers and reinstalled them.  I then added my printer, I am no longer getting an error message from image capture and HP utility is working again. Hope this helps if you run into the same issue.

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Easy Start Utility:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/ASU/HP_Easy_St...

As soon as you open HP Easy Start, click the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software...
Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue. When prompted, type your administrator user name and password and follow the steps on screen.
Click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to reinstall your printer with HP Easy Start and check if that may work.

If you experience any issues, open HP Easy Start again, from the HP Easy Start menu select Preferences.
Click on HP Easy Start.log and the log folder will launch, please reply me back via a Private Message to ShlomiL with the log content attached.

Followed your instructions to download and remove the HP Software. However, the Easy Start app will not set up my printer.  I get the message "We are not able to automatically locate any software options for this product. Please go to the HP Website and search for product solutions there." Following the link it sends me to a page to look up my printer. After the lookup, it tells me "We are unable to find drivers for your product." So the issue is still unresolved.
