Hi @Palovero

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

The error OW_500_OWSID00001 during HP Mobile Fax setup is typically associated with an authentication or connectivity issue between the HP App and HP cloud services. A common cause is an active VPN connection, which can prevent the HP Smart app from communicating with HP's servers.

In the meantime

Disconnect from any VPN

Remove and Re-add the Printer

  • Remove the printer from HP App
  • Add it again and retry the Mobile Fax setup.
  • Update the HP App
    • Check your device's app store for the latest version of HP Smart.
    • Install any available updates and restart the app.

Sign Out and Sign Back In

  • In HP App, sign out of your HP account.
  • Close the app completely.
  • Reopen the app and sign back in using the same HP account.

Verify HP Account

  • Ensure your HP account is verified and that you're using the correct email address.
  • If prompted, complete any pending email verification.

Restart the Devices

  • Restart your printer.
  • Restart the computer or mobile device.
  • Reconnect both to the same network and try the setup again.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Best regards,

I'm an HP Employee.
