Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Hi@PatsyChefcp527s

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are getting error when try to scan.

I have a few recommendations

  • Kindly Uninstall it and reinstall again in your IOS App Store. After reinstall try to login from your HP Smart print App. kindly use the full-featured driver App from the HP Support site to print or scan from your Win computers, on an iOS/macOS device, you may use AirPrint.
  • Try using the HP Easy Scan app from App Store or Apple Image Capture to scan and check if that helps.
  • Please uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

    2.) Select your HP Printer

    3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

    10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

    12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the computer and download the full feature software

If issue still persists then the only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

1. a. Open the ink cartridge access door.
    2. b. Press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds.
    3. c. Close the access door. A Load Paper message displays on the control panel, and the printer begins                        initializing.
    4. d. If the initialization does not begin, repeat steps a through c until initialization begins.
    5. e. Follow the prompts on the control panel to complete initialization.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
