Using the HP Send Fax application on my HP OfficeJet 8025, when I try to "Add Scan" using the page feeder, I receive the error message "An Error occurred while scanning", while the display window on the printer says the scan was successful.

I tried turning the printer off/on, rebooting the computer, but the same error message remains.

I am able to send a fax using the front panel controls on the printer.

 

Running Windows 10 (64-bit) on Dell XPS 8930.

Please help me with the below questions to assist better 

  1. Are you using the mobile fax app?
  2. What are the paper size and types you are scanning?
  3. How is the printer connected?
  4. What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android or an iPhone?

No, I am not using the mobile fax App.

All scans and paper are 81/2 X 11".

The printer is an Instant Ink printer, so it is connected by WiFi.

I am using the printer with a 64-bit Windows 10 Dell XPS 8930.

 

Also, when I try to send a single page fax using the flatbed scanner with the HP Send Fax app, I receive the error message "Printer not connected".  However, during "preparing to fax" in the HP Send Fax app setup, I chose the  HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 Series (Wireless connected), which the app accepted.

Print a fax test report to identify any issues with the printer, phone line connection, or fax settings.

 

On the Fax screen, Click to the right and touch Setup, touch Setup Wizard, and then follow the onscreen instructions. The printer displays the status of the test on the display and prints a report.
