Attempting to scan on my HP Officejet 4630, I am suddenly getting error codes: OXOO7C9C98 and also OXB8025F92. I've had no problems scanning until now. I have tried all the fixes I could find in the various threads about error codes, but none have worked. I can't update the firmware because the computer can't locate the printer, despite using a cable. Not sure what to try next. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi @kanewarwick ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your HP Officejet 4630 while attempting to scan, especially after encountering error codes OXOO7C9C98 and OXB8025F92. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve these issues:
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your printer and your computer can resolve communication issues.
- Check Connections: Ensure that all cables (USB or network cables) are securely connected between your printer and your computer. If you're using a wireless connection, check that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- Printer Firmware: Although you mentioned difficulty updating firmware, it's important to ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. If your computer isn't locating the printer, you might need to troubleshoot your network or try connecting the printer directly via USB to perform the update.
- Software and Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers and software installed on your computer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause communication errors. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model compatible with macOS Monterey.
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: This is a diagnostic tool provided by HP to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. It can automatically troubleshoot and fix many common issues.
- Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes clear up persistent issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
- Check for Physical Obstructions: Ensure there are no physical obstructions hindering the scanning process, such as paper jams or debris inside the printer.
