Several days ago (Sept 2024) the client printer stopped sending/receiving faxes. In the printers web console the error comes up " An internal communication failure has occurred in the Fax Module..."  It also drops error codes in the log files tagged as 44.34.10 -  Fax DSP not detected and 44.92.10 Fax Communication Error. Obviously the printer is out of warranty and I have checked and the firmware is up to date. Any care to take a guess?

The obvious is a bad fax module. Before replacing you could try performing a factory reset but in most cases it is the module that has been damaged. Pretty easy to change, it is connected to the main board by a single FFC.

Ah, so this is a replaceable piece of hardware and not a software (Firmware) module. I'm too used to software modules attached to databases to realize this. I'll have a look at the availability of this module. Thanks
