HP Officejet 6600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to use my fax/copy/scan functions on printer.  The printer works ok when printing from computer.  I've done all the troubleshooting...unplug, reboot (both printer and computer), etc.  All the reports I've run for "troubleshooting" are coming back with all PASSES.  But when I re-try those functions, the printer screen shows "fax starting" or "scan starting" and "starting copy."  I've been here for the last 10 minutes trying to get a copy, and the screen is still showing "starting copy."  And while they are "starting," I am unable to "x" out, so I have to turn the printer off.  The printer is 2 years old and the extended warranty we bought expired 2 months ago 😞     Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

I will be glad to help you on this, May i know if you have tried the uninstalling the printer driver from your PC and re-install the latest driver?

  1. Uninstall HP Officejet 6600 print driver from control panel
  2. Reinstall the print driver for HP Officejet 6600.  Here is the link to download the latest print driver: http://www.support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Officejet-6600-e-All-in-One-Printer-series---...

I forgot to mention we have a Dell all-in-one desktop if that means anything and we are wireless.  I checked our wireless connection too...it passed.

Hi

Please ensure that the printer is fully initiated prior starting the Scan or fax or copy functionality.

in addition to that,  if that does not help, uninstall and install the printer driver again to check and try the function. Thanks.

Hello,

Please try these.

1) You may need to uninstall and reinstall the HP full solution software. You can get from the link below:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-6600-e-All-in-One-Printer-series---H7/4322968/model...

Or

1) You also can try to go to 'Control Panel' > 'Hardware and Sound' -> 'Devices and Printers' -> under 'Printers and Faxes'.

2) Select your printer and Right click -> Go to 'Properties' -> Select 'Hardware' tab.

3) Choose your printer model and click 'Properties' button below.

4) Go to 'Driver' tab -> and click on  'Update Drivers' button.

5) You can choose 'Search autmatically for updated driver software'.

Please let me know if this helps you..

Thank you
