Hi @JM233,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When encountering issues like this with your HP printer and fax, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot.

  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your smartphone has a stable internet connection. Faxing through your smartphone typically requires an internet connection, so if the connection is weak or unstable, it might lead to errors.
  • Update HP Smart App: If you're using the HP Smart App to send the fax from your smartphone, make sure it is updated to the latest version. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve the issue.
  • Check Fax Settings: Verify that you have correctly configured the fax settings in the HP Smart App. Ensure that you've entered the correct fax number, country code, and any other required information.
  • Restart Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Try turning off your HP printer, waiting for a minute, and then turning it back on.
  • Clear App Cache/Restart App: If the HP Smart App has been acting up, clearing its cache or restarting the app might help. This can help in case there's a temporary issue with the app's data.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
